Hello! I’m Samantha

I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based in Canberra, Australia. I have a longstanding creative background and broad experience across a range of design practices, including traditional letterpress stationery, promotional collateral for local exhibitions and various packaging and publication design. While my work spans traditional and digital art, as the practice of design becomes increasingly geared towards the automated creation of low-cost, disposable products, I value  simple, functional but ultimately human-centred design married with an abiding interest in hand drawn illustration and traditional craft. I place an emphasis on detail and expression in my work and am interested in the ways in which art and design both challenge and reflect the human experience. It’s this thoughtfulness and curiosity that influences my process and impacts my designs.

When not lurking behind a screen or pile of art supplies, I can be found making coffee, taking a long walk or sprawled on the couch reading!
